Soccer!

Lately Leah has been using her beach ball as a soccer ball, and our fireplace as a goal, so we thought it would be a good idea to transfer that interest into something that isn't going to be quite as disastrous. I googled for youth soccer in our area, and found a club that has something called K-Ball for 3-5 year olds. It runs once a week for six weeks and the kids work with college soccer players playing fun little games and working on soccer skills at the same time. Monday night was our first session, and Leah had a blast. There were about 125 little kids there, so it was crazy, but we are so glad that we found something like this for her. Enjoy these pics and the short video at the end of Leah's first soccer experience! A note about the video....the coach was "Shrek" protecting his treasure, and the kids had to act like trees when he was awake so that he wouldn't see them. When he was sleeping they had to steal his treasure and run it back to their base. We have some soccer skills to work on (such as, don't touch the ball with your hands!), but it was sure a lot of fun.

Adia -- The problem is that Gina and I are just pretending to be soccer parents. We had to scratch our heads and google to figure out how to put those shin guards on.

And Leah posed for these pictures herself -- we didn't ask her to stand on the soccer ball! But my little girl does look 14 in these pics.
